Your Guide To Modular Office Buildings
If you're not that familiar with construction, maybe you haven't heard that much about modular office buildings. And maybe now it's time that you did.
In the past, most buildings have been built with the same typical construction techniques. This means building the entire frame, flooring, structure supports and plumbing as a single piece. In recent years, though, a new construction style has arisen and become quite popular. And it's been popular because it is easy to build, design and maintain. This newer process is called modular construction. And it's been especially well-liked for office buildings.
Modern office buildings and portable modular buildings are being built today using construction practices which were developed because of a need to build ships more quickly and efficiently during the Second World War. As a result of this need, ships were assembled off site and then were shipped to the docks. There, more of the pieces awaited for assembly.
In many ways, modular assembly is like putting something together from a box of Legos, with pieces all fitting together in order to build something great. With this approach, modular office buildings can be built in section, with each section built separately in a factory, and assembled later at the site. This process reduces labor, time and money. This makes it an excellent choice for small businesses in British Columbia and throughout Canada and North America (and in fact, there are now even modular medical office buildings ).
Surprisingly, you don't have to buy the modular building new, either. There are even used modular office buildings for sale. Usually you'll find these advertised on classified-ad sites or auction websites.
When you build your modular office, your first step is to get a good floor plan. Even this is not difficult, since there are many pre-designed office designs already built into many architecture programs. These can be easily customized to fit your specific requirements. Once you have your plan, it's broken down into a few different units. These are then sent to contractors and to factories, and the units are constructed off the ultimate site. After the parts are done, these units are shipped to the job site and then assembled, using mortar and cement.
Most people find that steel and concrete are the best materials for creating your office modules. That's because they are both easy to use and adaptable. Other possible materials include molded plastic, glass, fiberglass, bricks, wood, and others.
Modular offices have tremendous advantages over other buildings due to their flexibility. They're perfect for expanding a business or providing a new facility for a new business. Another advantage is that they're easy to use when the time comes.
In today's difficult economy, it can be hard for a small business to really take off, due to lack of adequate facilities. And it's certainly a challenge for them to expand into a larger space. Modular office buildings are one way to help the new or struggling business offset those costs. And they look stylish despite the low cost.
